High Resolution Thermal Images in Any Conditions

The ZistosHD Dual Mode Thermal Camera (THC-51D-HD) combines the benefit of remote thermal imaging and low-light, black & white video into a single compact enclosure. This dual camera allows the operator to instantly toggle between a 320×240 resolution thermal video camera and a 640×480 resolution, low-light, standard B&W video camera, using the pole camera controls without having to change cameras.

The B&W video camera also has built in IR illumination that can further assist in low light conditions. The camera can be programmed to show the thermal video in monochrome, or it can be colorized to show different temperature ranges. The camera also displays a crosshair in the center of the image and can calculate the temperature in degrees at that location.

  • Rugged, weather-resistant housing
  • Built-in covert infrared illumination for the B/W mode
  • Instantaneously switch between Thermal and B&W video camera
  • Built-in microphone and amplifier – Listen Only/Talkback Capable with addition of audio module
  • Small size allows access through 2 inch core holes
  • Compatible with any ZistosHD System

Whether you are using the camera to look in an attic to look for a subject’s heat signature, inspecting hot wires in a vault or searching for victims in rubble through core holes, being able to switch the camera from thermal to B&W to gain intelligence of the surroundings and environment without losing sight of your objective is invaluable to any user.

Extended Battery Runtime = Extended Field Use

Portable Video Systems rely on batteries for power and are an integral part of any system design. The ZistosHD batteries (BAT-15XL) are lithium-ion, rechargeable batteries that have significant advantages over most batteries on the market today. You will no longer have to worry about not having enough power to last for an entire operation or be blind to how much life is left on the batteries.

These BAT-15XL batteries provide power for 6-12 hours of continuous operation. The exact time depends on the camera in-use and the user-controlled illumination levels, but the worries of having a system not make it through an operation are greatly reduced. All ZistosHD systems come standard with two BAT-15XL batteries which allows for one battery to be charged to full capacity, while the other battery is in use.

The BAT-15XL battery provides a battery meter that displays 5 segments on a mini LCD screen that represent the battery life remaining on the battery itself. This window is visible whether the system is on or off, and is visible even if the battery isn’t connected to the system at all. This is especially important in those instances when a system is deployed that was previously used on a recent job and the batteries may not have been recharged.

All in all, our new ZistosHD Systems have been engineered to remove the inconvenience and problems associated with many of the other battery-powered video systems that are on the market. They help ensure that the ZistosHD system remains operational in times of crisis, when reliable system performance is essential.

ZistosHD Motorized Pole Options

ZistosHD Pole Camera Systems are used in many applications where it is necessary to inspect or surveil an object or subject, in an environment that is difficult to access or dangerous to enter. This is accomplished by mounting one of our specially designed HD video camera heads onto one of our telescoping poles. One specialized telescoping pole option we offer is a motorized design.

The ZistosHD motorized pole utilizes a motorized articulating hinge that allows the camera head to be remotely positioned across its full range of +/- 120 degrees. Controlling this is accomplished by using the control keypad on the ZistosHD system handle, or the touchscreen overlay on the display unit.

The motorized articulating mount allows the camera to be positioned in any orientation when it is inserted into an environment and inaccessible to the operator. The articulation angle of the camera head is displayed on the handle, so the operator is never blind to the camera position even if the camera head is not visible.

The speed of articulation can be adjusted by the user, and the gear-head motor is designed with a special slip-clutch that protects it against mechanical shock if the motor is back driven by manually forcing the camera head. The motorized pole can be rotated to allow the camera to pan 360 degrees around an area. The motorized poles are available in 6ft (1.8M), 10ft (3M), 16ft (5M), 22ft (6.9M) and 30ft (9.4M) lengths.

The advantages of the motorized articulation design are vast. It allows the inspection of areas where openings are narrow and only accommodate the camera to be inserted in its smallest footprint orientation (usually 0 degrees, positioned straight). The motorized poles are also advantageous when the application requires inspection of a broad area where constant adjustments to the camera position are required.

The modular design and the broad variety of pole types and lengths, along with the different camera and display options available in the ZistosHD line of inspection and surveillance products, ensure that we have a customizable video pole camera system that will best fit your application and budget. If you need a video system for applications such as tactical surveillance, urban search and rescue, vehicle/cargo search or industrial inspection, please call us to get more information, or to set up a no-obligation product demonstration virtually or at your facility.

The ZistosHD Handle – Redundant Controls

The HD Handle is the common modular component of the ZistosHD family of products. It houses all of the controls, power, and WiFi transmitters for the system to function. The handle attaches to any ZistosHD camera pole or cable on one end, and the battery module is seated in the handle on the opposite end.

The ZistosHD handle is designed with an ergonomic hand grip and offers easily accessible keypad controls. These features allow the system to be operated by a single individual, with a minimal amount of training on system use and function.

The 9-button keypad on the handle module is designed to be actuated by the operator’s thumb. The 9 buttons include; Illumination Up & Down, Zoom In & Out, Motorized Pan Left & Right, Special Function, Snapshot, and Record Video Start/Stop.

The ZistosHD systems also offer full control redundancy. All of the keypad control functions from the handle are also available using the touch screen menu overlays on the display.

Two is always better than one. The control redundancy is beneficial in many ways. One way is ZistosHD systems can be used as a drop camera and the operator can control the camera using the display from a safe distance away from a potentially dangerous location like a doorway or confined space. Another example is it could be bad weather and the touch screen is wet and it is not registering your inputs with your gloves on, but the handle buttons will work.
